Whirlpool Canada is the number one supplier of home appliances, selling products under major brands that include KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Inglis and Amana. Whirlpool Canada’s head office is located in Mississauga, Ontario.

Working as Canadian legal counsel and business advisor to multiple cross-functional teams, you will be instrumental in the company’s business processes and practices.  Bringing a pragmatic business-oriented approach, you will be responsible for:

  • Advising on commercial legal issues, including (i) dealer/distributor selection, disputes, terminations, and collections, (ii) Whirlpool’s pricing and promotional activities, (iii) service relationships, and (iv) marketing claims and promotions;
  • Drafting and negotiating of commercial contracts (including distribution, credit, service, and marketing agreements);
  • Developing, executing and administering compliance policies; and,
  • Providing general legal advice to the Canadian business unit, special projects and legal process improvements.

Ideal candidates will be Ontario qualified and bring 3-5 years post-Call legal experience in commercial law (including dealer/distribution laws, credit laws and marketing law).  Competition law experience will be highly valued.  Candidates must also possess exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills, combined with strong analytical, organizational and management skills.
