Job Information

Our client, a top-notch and highly sophisticated employment law boutique, is looking to welcome a new lawyer. Advising employers of all sizes, the firm provides practical advice and helps clients deal with a wide variety of HR issues. The firm also works closely with in-house counsel and HR teams, to help their businesses stay informed about the employment and regulatory landscape as it pertains to their operations and the Canadian workforce. In addition to its employer-side advice, the firm also provides occasional assistance to senior executives as they prepare to transition from one role to another.

The firm values impeccable client service and its lawyers are strong advocates for the businesses and people they represent. Their strong and consistent client base and referral network is evidence of the quality of the firm’s practical advice.

The firm is seeking a like-minded practitioner to manage employer client requests for day-to-day legal and HR advice and to oversee longer term projects and negotiations for their clients. This role includes handling litigation matters, supporting other lawyers with research and drafting, as well as other client management and business development activities. In return, the firm offers a collegial work environment, competitive compensation and benefits, reasonable hours, a flexible hybrid work environment and a well-established practice.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player and bring four or more years of employment law experience in a law firm environment. Strong practice management and the ability to work independently within tight turnaround timelines are essential. Candidates must be decisive, capable of handling complex business and HR issues and willing to provide and seek mentorship. Litigation experience is an asset. Neither a book of business nor a partial portable practice is required.
